Home Boarding

Home boarding is a great alternative to putting your dog in kennels and the least stressful dog minding option available. Your dog is never housed in a small space and because your dog is staying in a home environment, familiar surroundings make for a more comfortable and relaxed stay. Your dog gets to hang out with other dogs which helps their dog socialization skills and is supervised throughout the day.

   

Dogs have indoor access to the house and a large secure garden to play in. Plenty of toys are available and there are short training sessions daily. As part of the dogs routine and to break up their day, they are always walked twice daily; 30 – 40 mins in the afternoon and 40 mins in the evening.

It is advisable to book in advance, especially for peak periods (Summer, Christmas, Easter and bank holiday weekends). Dogs coming to stay have the option to be collected from your home and dropped back for a small charge.

Please note that aggressive dogs, excessive barkers or highly destructive dogs will not be able to stay at Gem Dogs.

Daycare

If you want your dog minded while you are at work, you are not at home for long periods or just want your dog to socialize with other dogs during the day then this is a good option for your dog. Using daycare facilities is a way for your dog to be looked after and entertained throughout the day.

Dog Sitting

The option of home visits are ideal if you prefer that your dog stays at home while you are away. Dogs which are usually visited in their home twice a day, get walked for an hour and are fed.

RATES

Boarding:

• €35 per night

Daycare:

• 1 – 8 hrs/ €30

• 9 – 12 hrs/ €35

Dog Sitting:

• 1 visit daily/ €25

• 2 visits daily/ €35

Requirements

It is essential that all dogs using these dog minding services have up to date vaccinations which include Kennel Cough, Parvo virus and Distemper. Dogs must have been recently been treated for worms/fleas.

If you would like your dog to be minded with Gem Dogs you need to bring the following:

• Dog food to last for the duration of the stay
• Copy of Vaccination record
• Leash
• Dogs bed
• Dogs bowl
